Welcome to the Timber Cutter's Run, a unique touring route that guides you along ancient waterways and through ethereal forests. This journey unveils the story of a 60,000-year-old earthquake that shaped the land, creating the Cadell Fault and the Narrows (Barmah Choke), forming a 50-kilometer sand ridge, redirecting the Murray River, and establishing the Millawa-Barmah forests—the largest stand of River Red Gum in the world.

The Timber Cutter's Run stretches through the central Murray Catchment of the Murray-Darling Basin, from Moama to Balranald, with stops in Barmah, Mathoura, Deniliquin, Moulamein, and Kayalite. This adventure not only traces the redirection of the Murray River and the creation of two ancient lakes but also explores the origins of the Barmah Forest.
