As the government struggles with the raging drug epidemic, the police are losing a war against vicious Southeast Asian street gangs in Cabramatta… And for the past year, Anh Nguyen has been running crew with the most dangerous of them all: The notorious 5T and its nineteen-year-old leader, Tri Minh Tran.

When the assassination of a local politician threatens their friendship and draws the gang unwanted attention, Anh soon finds himself at a moment in history… Forced to reckon with the cost of belonging, and finding kinship in those who exercise violence as control.
