Cockatoo Island Tour

Did you know that Sydney has four UNESCO World Heritage sites right on our own doorstep?

Cockatoo Island is one of four Australian penal convict sites listed with UNESCO. Established in 1839 as a site to hold convicts, it has since had a unique place in Australia's history.

Situated in the middle of Sydney Harbour, it boasts 360 degree views and was the site of Australia's largest shipyards from 1857 to 1991. Closed to the public until 1991, you can now learn all about this historic site. With such a colourful past there is a wonderful array of buildings and outposts that dot the island landscape and make for interesting photo opportunities.
