Boat Hire in Sydney
Sydney's waterways are a wonderland – a whopping 350km of surf beaches, hidden coves, rivers and dramatic headlands. You'll find a huge range of sail and motor boat hire companies around the harbour to help you explore them, whether you want to play captain or relax while a skipper handles the tiller.
Speaking of which, on a sunny day with friends there's really nothing nicer than a chartered sail on the harbour while you enjoy a glass or two of champers. You'll find companies in Gladesville, Balmain, Rose Bay and Rushcutters Bay which can organise all kinds of skippered charters for the perfect day out on the water. In Manly, you can also join a chartered sail or take sailing lessons.
If kayaking appeals, Balmoral, Manly and Bayview, all located in Sydney's north, are good places to start. You can also hire out kayaks, canoes and aqua bikes at the Royal National Park at Bundeena around an hour's drive from Sydney.
To explore beyond Sydney Harbour, consider hiring a houseboat for a few days and chugging along the picturesque Hawkesbury River. Hiring a houseboat is easy from Brooklyn or Wiseman's Ferry, which are both around an hour's drive from Sydney. You'll also find houseboat hire and fishing charters on offer in Cronulla, located in Sydney's South.
