For dramatic views of the Nepean River and Blue Mountains, take a 30-minute drive south-west of Penrith, park the car at the end of Fairlight Road in Mulgoa, walk a few hundred metres, and soak up all there is to see from The Rock Lookout in the Blue Mountains National Park.
If you’re up for a longer walk, a 5km return track through swampy heath and eucalyptus forest takes you to Rileys Mountain, where more spectacular views of the Nepean make the effort well worthwhile.
Please note: the last section of Fairlight Road is dirt/gravel and the gates are only open during daylight hours.
