Family Funday Sunday in Sydney
Who was La Perouse? Find out about this ill-fated explorer at the museum in Botany Bay National Park. Travel there using the Family Funday Sunday pass.
Sydney south day trips
For $2.50 per person, your family can enjoy a fun day out with unlimited travel on Sydney's buses, trains, ferries and light rail every Sunday. South of Sydney there are several destinations that are easy to get to by public transport. You'll find dramatic cliff tops that you can explore on foot, great surfing beaches, lush countryside and historic landmarks, all great places to explore with the kids. Use the Family Funday Sunday pass to enjoy a day out.
Jump on a train to Cronulla at Sydney Central Station - 65 minutes later you’ll be gazing out over Sydney’s longest beach. Spend the day swimming and surfing or simply enjoy a lazy beachfront meal at one of Cronulla’s beachside cafes.
For something a bit more energetic, stay on the train a bit longer, and explore the Royal National Park on foot. Get off at Loftus, Engadine, Heathcote or Waterfall stations; you can enter the park via walking tracks close to each station.
An alternative way to reach Royal National Park is by ferry from Cronulla to Bundeena, the northern gateway to the national park (ferry fare is not included in Funday Sunday ticket). There's also a three-hour cruise from Cronulla aboard the MV Tom Thumb III that takes you exploring on the beautiful Hacking River (ferry fare is not included in Funday Sunday ticket).
