Location: Whale Beach is on the northern peninsular at Pittwater. Only 50 minutes drive from the CBD or 15 minutes by sea-plane from Rose Bay.
Details: Jonah’s is one of Australia’s most spectacular ocean retreats, perfect for relaxation and indulgence. Since it first opened as a roadhouse in 1929, Jonah’s has set the exclusive enclave of Whale Beach on the international map. Famed for its luxury, privacy and seclusion, Jonah’s has reeled in a handful of celebrities and famed international guests. With breathtaking views, a spectacular outdoor Terrace and a cliff-top garden, Jonah’s offers the perfect location for a wedding or special function. Coco Republic designers fitted out the dining room and breezy alfresco terrace in comfortable, neutral-toned furniture that is stylish yet allows the view to dominate every corner.
Food & beverage: The kitchen is led by Peter Ridland who joined Jonah’s almost three years ago. The restaurant offers outstanding Contemporary Australian cuisine with an emphasis on seafood. Fittingly, the award-winning restaurant features an extensive wine list offering more than 1,000 wines drawn from a cellar containing over 5,000 bottles of vintage Australian and international wines. Sunday lunch is a quintessential Australian Summer experience; possessing a casual ambience and a level of service that is attentive but not excessive. Mid week lunches bustle with holiday-makers and locals who are rewarded with special dishes and rare seafood finds. Dinner is a memorable treat that begins with a sunset and continues with food and service deserving of a second visit.
Functions: With a variety of stylish indoor and outdoor function spaces available the secluded cliff-top location high above Whale beach is simply the ultimate place for celebrating. Options include an intimate cocktail party on the lawn, private use of the Terrace for 48 seated guests or 25 for conferences, or exclusive use of the Restaurant catering for up to 100 guests. The local area offers a plethora of team building activities including sailing on Pittwater, deep sea fishing off Palm Beach or early morning fitness boot camps for those interested in breaking a sweat.
