Manly is the most well-known of Sydney’s Northern Beaches, and with good reason; it’s a surfer’s paradise lined with beautiful family-friendly beaches, the shopping and dining on offer is world-class, and there’s a fantastic range of events on offer year-round. Jump on the ferry from Circular Quay and in half an hour you’ll be there, ready to enjoy whatever awesome events are taking place that day.
From weekly farmers’ markets (Wednesdays and Saturdays) to food festivals to music events and surfing competitions, there’s never a dull moment in Manly. Don’t miss the annual Manly International Jazz Festival, the largest community-based Jazz festival in Australia. Catch a home game for local rugby league team the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles at Brookvale Oval, or just chill out on Manly or Freshwater Beach, where you can learn to surf or watch the experts. Surfing festivals and competitions are common in the area, and it's also home to the Sydney Surf Film Festival.
