Review: The image is ironic; a Japanese restaurant overlooking iconic Australian structures, but it’s also a great image of the way Australians have embraced multiculturalism. Kenji is a sushi and sashimi restaurant headed by one of Australia’s most celebrated sushi chefs, Kenji Nishinakagawa and it is the centrepiece of Opera Kitchen. To get the full experience, go on a sunny day and sit by the water with a glass of bubbly and order one of Nishinakagawa’s special dishes. If you’re not big on an explosion of flavours go for the understated but immaculately presented sushi finger rolls, bursting with generous portions of seafood.
