Blue Mountains Events

Events in the Blue Mountains

The Blue Mountains is constantly abuzz with a wide range of events such as art exhibitions, live music performances, cultural festivals and markets.

Weekend markets are held throughout the Blue Mountains region and range from featuring arts and craft to specialising in gourmet food; explore the diverse stalls and immerse yourself in the vibrant community scene.

Experience the region’s thriving art scene by timing your visit with an Arts Trail event. This free event is held every three months and invites visitors into the studios of local artists. Create your own art by joining a photography tour and capturing the Blue Mountains’ stunning landscape.

The towns of Katoomba and Leura are the main precincts for musical and theatrical productions. From symphony orchestras to dramatic stage shows, there is no shortage of cultural activities to enjoy. Held in March, the annual three-day Blue Mountains Music Festival of Folk, Blues and Roots is a great event for all ages and includes food and craft stalls, a poet’s brunch, performance workshops and children’s entertainment. Visit Oberon's beautiful open gardens during autumn and spring, and check out a wide range of sporting events throughout the year in Lithgow.

Less than two hours from Sydney by road or train, the Blue Mountains is a great destination to experience arts and cultural events at any time of the year.
