Sydney Harbour Huts - Living off land and sea
概述
Discover the extraordinary stories of the men and women who created an unconventional community on the shores of Sydney Harbour. Explore the surviving huts, uncover their fascinating social history, and learn how this secluded settlement became the centre of a bitter struggle over heritage, conservation and the right to live differently.
This is a short but sometimes demanding walk that takes you first to the Grotto Point Lighthouse (1910) and then onto the Crater Cove Huts (1919-1963) looking out to the heads of Sydney Harbour. The trail winds its way through dense heathland and at times can have you jumping over and down from rocky outcrops as you follow the trail and get closer to the shacks
The last section of the walk is on an unformed, unmaintained and rocky track with several steep sections and exposed cliffs. The track can be slippery and muddy after rain.
