Macarthur Textile Network: Stepping Out

Macarthur Textile Network: 'Stepping Out' presents new work by Macarthur Textile Network Inc. For the artists, 'Stepping Out' is about exploring, challenging and changing as they experiment with new styles, techniques, and unconventional materials.

Thematically, artists have aimed to challenge their own ideas and attitudes and embrace new perspectives.

In addition to highlighting the diverse individual practices of the artists, 'Stepping Out' presents a large-scale collaborative work initiated by the group following a series of workshops in 2024.

Macarthur Textile Network Inc. began in 2010 with the aim to connect artists working with textiles and fibres in the Macarthur area, foster and develop fibre arts in the community, and promote cooperation between textile artists. The Network, who meet on the first Saturday of each month, host lectures, discussions, exhibitions, demonstrations and workshops.
