Mind Games: Art Alive
Highlights
Overview
A new, woman-led, interactive, immersive and independent experiential playground has opened in Chippendale, in Sydney's inner suburbs – at a scale and level of detail that has not been done in Australia.
Comprising multisensory installations such as holographic moon rooms to upside-down trains, mirrored mazes, and perception puzzles, Mind Games: Art Alive brings together illusion artists, prop makers, and perception artists to create a playful museum-style experience that offers people a chance to connect with art and each other affordably and unforgettably.
With a focus on playfulness and creativity, Mind Games: Art Alive has commissioned more than 60 bespoke works from 15 artists that explore perception-shifting concepts, requiring between 60 and 150 minutes in total to experience.
Visitors will encounter sensory experiences of smell and sound, technology-driven pieces.
And exiting through the gift shop won't be a hassle – shoppers can stir their senses of taste and rhythm through the venue's musical lollipops.
Situated on one of Australia's most notable streets for cultural heritage and education – Broadway in Chippendale – the venue's design and build have been shaped to enhance and extend the immersive experiences on offer via a seamless walkthrough across two levels that feels stepping through different portals, giving urban edgy vibes.
