The Russian Orthodox Old-Rite Church is an Eastern Orthodox church that originated from a split in the Russian Orthodox Church in the 17th century. The Old Believers, also known as Old Ritualists, rejected reforms to the Russian Orthodox Church. The Old Believers maintain the liturgical and ritual practices of the Russian Orthodox Church as they were before the reforms of Patriarch Nikon.
The Russian Old Rite Orthodox Christian Church was built in between 1991-2001. The construction of this Church is related to the fifth wave of Russian migration to Australia during the 1990s following the dissolution of the Soviet Union.
