The Walls Are Changing
Overview
The Walls Are Changing is an exhibition developed on the cusp of transformation. Presented by Campbelltown Arts Centre as the final exhibition prior to a significant expansion, it invites eight artists to create new work directly on the walls of Campbelltown Arts Centre's galleries.
Created with the knowledge that the works will disappear through redevelopment of the space, the artists explore notions of impermanence, change and transformation through material experimentation, audience participation and site-responsive approaches. Their works consider how meaning is shaped through encounter, movement, and interaction, and how galleries function as active spaces of exchange.
The Walls Are Changing celebrates a moment of transformation and recognises that cultural institutions, like the communities they serve, are living sites of connection, change and continuity.
The Walls Are Changing will feature new commissions by: Anamika, Ellen Ferrier, Miranda Hampson, David Hawkes, Rosemary Lee, Al Poulet, Jenny Reynolds and Guan Wei.
