Concertos and Sonatas: Bach & Telemann I
Overview
Quiet intensity, dazzling virtuosity.
Concertos & Sonatas is an immersive experience showcasing the famous concertos of J. S. Bach and the rare sonatas in five parts of Georg Philipp Telemann.
In this first orchestral concert for Pinchgut, the spotlight falls on the indomitable Orchestra of the Antipodes, whose artistry brings every phrase to life with elegance and vitality. The program also showcases dazzling solo moments from Erin Helyard and Matthew Greco in Bach's concertos — a celebration of virtuosity, friendship and the expressive power of Baroque music.
Revel in the inner sanctum of Telemann's masterly five-part counterpoint and Bach's innate command of the concerto: intimate, expressive and structurally refined. Illuminating the contrasting genius of two of the era's most revered composers, these works unfold with quiet intensity and emotional clarity. A celebration of form, friendship, and the eloquence of pure sound.
