World Rivers Day - Nepean River Guided Walk
Overview
To celebrate World Rivers Day, Camden Council invites you to join a guided walk along the Nepean River Waterway Walk on the Nepean Cycle Way.
This annual event highlights the importance of rivers and waterways and encourages the community to help protect them. During the walk, Council Guides will share insights about the Nepean River's unique wildlife, natural features, environmental challenges, and practical ways we can help care for this iconic waterway.
The walk begins at Elizabeth Macarthur Reserve (near the end of Ulmarra Avenue, Camden South) and finishes at Rotary Cowpasture Reserve (near the club amenities block). Participants will then make the return journey independently at their own pace.
Parking: Available at Elizabeth Macarthur Reserve, at the end of Ulmarra Avenue.
Walk details: Approximately 7 kilometre return. Attendees should be comfortable walking this distance and standing for up to three hours.
What to wear: Enclosed, comfortable footwear is required. Sun protection, including hats, sunglasses and sunscreen, is recommended. The event will proceed in light rain, so please bring wet weather gear if needed.
Eligibility: Open to all ages. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Pets are not permitted.
