Live at the Great: Sergej Krylov x Konstantin Shamray
Overview
Live at Yours opens its season in glorious surroundings — beneath the star-studded vault of Sydney's Great Synagogue, a 19th-century masterpiece whose soaring arches and golden light create an atmosphere of timeless majesty. Italian-based violinist Sergej Krylov joins Konstantin Shamray, a Live at Yours favourite, for an evening of rare electricity and emotional depth.
Their program blazes with the gypsy passion and French flair of Maurice Ravel, the sparkling brilliance of Camille Saint-Saëns, and the radiant romanticism of César Franck — music that dances between elegance and abandon, light and fire. Renowned across Europe for his fusion of searing virtuosity and luminous warmth, Krylov makes his maiden Australian tour — an unmissable chance to experience one of the world's great violinists up close, within one of Sydney's most awe-inspiring spaces.
Program:
Camille Saint-Saëns – Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso
Maurice Ravel – Tzigane
Maurice Ravel – Violin Sonata No. 2
César Franck – Sonata in A major
Sergej Krylov performs on the Stradivarius "Camposelice" (1710), generously on loan from the Nippon Music Foundation.
An evening where music, architecture, and emotion intertwine — and every note feels close enough to touch.
