The Ngaro Track is a 32km, 3-day journey across Whitsunday Island, offering the unique opportunity to experience the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area on foot.

Created in partnership with the Ngaro People, Traditional Owners of this land and sea Country, the track reveals perspectives of this iconic Australian island that only walkers will see. Starting from South Whitehaven Beach and finishing at Tongue Point, you'll traverse rainforests, climb to panoramic viewpoints at Whitsunday Craig (353m), and descend to the tidal beauty of Hill Inlet. Two overnight stays at architect designed island camps provide a deeper connection to the Whitsundays' land and sea.

This is an independent walk with limited numbers (maximum 15 walkers per day) to preserve the quiet, low impact experience. Campsites include tent platforms, toilets, and water tanks. Best undertaken April to October during the cooler, drier months. Advance booking essential.
