Paul McIntyre is a contemporary Australian artist based on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria. In 2011, he turned his focus to painting, developing a practice inspired by the curiosity and sense of wonder he experiences when immersed in nature. His work has evolved over time, moving from dreamlike abstract landscapes towards more recognisable places and experiences, while continuing to explore the relationship between landscape, perception and emotion. Land Forms marks his his seventh solo exhibition at Art2Muse Gallery.

In reflecting on his practice ahead of Land Forms, Paul describes how his inner world and the world around him often overlap, transforming even an ordinary suburban environment into something extraordinary. Particular qualities of light from golden warmth to soft muted tones can trigger an inner response and become a starting point for creativity. Working intuitively, Paul allows each painting to develop in its own way, experimenting with layers and expressive marks while resisting the urge to overcomplicate. As he reflects, when he paints freely and trusts his instincts, his work becomes an authentic representation of himself and how he sees the world. He hopes his paintings offer viewers a sense of authenticity and connection, inviting them to bring their own experiences and interpretations to each work.
