Chinatown Night Market

Feast your way through Asia without leaving Sydney at the bustling Chinatown Market. Every Friday, this late-night food market turns Dixon Street into a melting pot of tastes, smells, sights and sounds.
From 4-11pm every Friday night, more than 50 market stalls pop up along the pedestrian strip of Dixon Street in the heart of Chinatown cooking up cuisine from all across Asia. The line-up changes regularly, but expect things like dumplings, roti, noodles, pho, curry and takoyaki. Many of Chinatown’s big name restaurants, like East Ocean and Mamak, run a stall alongside food truck treats you can’t find anywhere else. There are also plenty of sweet treats on offer, from gelato and dragon beard candy to creamy custard tarts.
Once you’ve satisfied your cravings, explore the many stalls run by up and coming designers, local Asian artisans, and students showcasing their work. You can pick up everything from custom jewellery and clothing to cute phone cases, giant stuffed toys and samurai swords. There is also regular live music and performances from dance troupes or traditional artists.
Sydney's Chinatown celebrates the city's multicultural community with food, shops, and festivals. Thanks to the Chinese immigrants that arrived as early as the 1800s, Sydney's Chinatown is one of the largest of its kind. You can find everything here, from small specialist stores and sprawling Asian grocers to noodle bars in hidden food halls and tucked-away fine-dining restaurants. Not to mention lively markets and late-night karaoke. Take a food tour to discover eats the locals love.
