Celebrate Chinese New Year at Darling Harbour

Event dates to be confirmed: February 2019

Chinese New Year celebrations will take centre stage at Darling Harbour's Chinese Garden of Friendship.

Over three weekends of performances, demonstrations, workshops, lanterns, and tours.

Slow down in a tai chi class, or experience acrobatic lion dancing, said to bring you good luck and fortune. Learn the ancient art of laughing from deep down inside, or observe a traditional tea ceremony in silence.

The Chinese Garden of Friendship was built as a beautiful symbol of friendship between Sydney in the State of New South Wales and Guangzhou in the province of Guangdong, China (sister cities of sister states), to mark Australia’s bicentenary in 1988.
