Maestro Riccardo Muti conducts the Australian World Orchestra

Event dates to be confirmed: May 2019

Each year Australia's finest musicians from the world's greatest orchestras come together for a concert series with their colleagues from Australia and all over the world.

They are proud to bring the legendary Italian conductor Maestro Riccardo Muti of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and formerly La Scala in Milan to lead the orchestra for three exhilarating Australian concerts. This is the first time Maestro Muti has conducted an Australian orchestra and only his second visit to Australia.

The award-winning Australian World Orchestra has attracted some of the world's most high profile conductors and has been described as an International treasure – Sir Simon Rattle (London Symphony Orchestra) and one of the top 10 orchestras in the world Maestro Zubin Mehta (Israel Philharmonic Orchestra).

If you plan to see just one classical music concert this year then be sure not to miss the thrilling sounds of 86 of Australia's finest musicians on Sydney's most iconic stage: the Concert Hall of the Sydney Opera House. A thrilling programme of Brahms Second Symphony, Tchaikovsky's Fourth Symphony, and a Verdi surprise!
