Cultural flavours

You can eat your way around the world at Barangaroo. Zushi creates modern Japanese dishes, while Ume Burger is a Japanese burger mash-up. Lotus cooks excellent Chinese dumplings, you can get traditional Thai flavours at Muum Maam, ramen at Torotoro and homestyle Indian at Spiced by Billu's. Snack on Turkish mezze at Anason, Spanish tapas at Born by Tapavino, and southern US-style fare at Belle's Hot Chicken and Nola Smokehouse.

Casual fare

Pop into Wild Sage for Instagrammable cafe dishes and Devon Cafe if you fancy an Asian twist on your brunch. Shortstop Coffee & Donuts has your caffeine needs sorted, Rivareno is the place for gelato and Bourke Street Bakery has you covered for bread and pastries. For a relaxed, locally-sourced seafood offering, head to love.fish, which also creates cocktails with native ingredients such as lemon myrtle and wattleseed.

Fine dining

Enjoy sustainable seafood at Cirrus, from the award-winning team behind the acclaimed Bentley restaurant and Monopole wine bar in the city centre.

For serious fine dining, head to the new, six-star Crown Sydney. Italian is on the menu at a'Mare and there's high-end woodfired cooking going on at Woodcut. For Japanese fare, choose between world-renowned Nobu or Yoshii's Omakase. Headed by Michelin-starred Clare Smyth, Oncore by Clare Smyth features a selection of the chef's classic dishes, as well as new plates with a uniquely Sydney flavour.

Bars

The beautifully designed tri-level Barangaroo House, a charcoal, timber-clad curved building, offers three options for drinks. House Bar is the relaxed, ground-level bar that spills out onto a beer garden; Rekodo is a nod to Japanese listening rooms, hosting DJs playing all-vinyl sets; while Smoke is the rooftop bar with fantastic views.

Untied is Barangaroo's other rooftop bar. With a more casual vibe than Smoke, it dishes up fresh cocktails alongside modern Australian fare. Chi by Lotus has Chinese-inspired cocktails and Shirt Bar is a small bar that does double-duty, serving up whiskey as well as tailored shirts, so order a nip and then get shopping. At Crown Sydney, Teahouse is a bold and playful take on a traditional Chinese teahouse, serving cocktails and a selection of Asian-accented nibbles.
