AMS wears multiple hats in the design industry - as journalist she was editor-at-large of BELLE, and founder of ID.x THE SNAP COLLECTIVE an independent Australian designer platform. 

After design studies at RMIT, AMS worked as an interior designer at BATES SMART Melbourne, and DEGW, & WOLFF OLLINS in London prior to relocating to Sydney where she was instrumental in founding the SPACE FURNITURE network for founder Kevin Jarrett.

Commemorating a 20-year milestone AMS rebranded her marketing agency AMS pty ltd. as THE SNAP COLLECTIVE, collaborating with designers, design brands and events of broad reaching creative initiatives.
 
As a journalist, AMS has been widely published, as trends editor for INSIDE OUT for more than a decade, editor at large of BELLE for 5 years and contributing editor to MONOCLE and SURFACE USA / SURFACE ASIA.
 
AMS launched THE SNAP ASSEMBLY blog in 2010, a curated selection of art, design and other cool stuff.

In association with VIVID SYDNEY - AMS is hosting GET REAL - DON'T BE FAKE!! - a constructive discussion on how to protect original furniture and lighting designs; and HANDMADE-BACK TO WHERE WE STARTED? Probing how the proliferation of mass-produced products have seen a rise in the importance of handmade, artisanal products and a return to craftsmanship

A frank and positive discussion exploring the need for greater IP protection, the real costs of knock-off designs, and asking how can we change buyer behaviour to support original design?

Session Two: Design Entrepreneur Awards Pitch and Awards Presentation 4:00pm – 5.30pm

New for 2016, the Design Entrepreneur Awards were created by Good Design Australia and CtechBA to recognise entrepreneurial startups in the design and business community.

Finalists will pitch their ideas to a live audience and a panel of design, business and venture capital professionals. The winner will be invited to join CtechBA’s Business Acceleration Program - valued at $25,000 - where they will gain investment, expertise and access to distribution channels to realize their concept.

Good Design Festival Closing Cocktail Party 6:00pm – 7.30pm

Guests will be invited to stay on for networking cocktails and drinks and savour the spectacular Vivid Sydney light show overlooking Sydney Harbour.
