Must Do

Sydney Harbour Bridge to Manly Walk

There are a series of walks between the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Spit Bridge, each offering a great introduction to Sydney. You'll enjoy some of the city's best harbour views, historic attractions, Aboriginal cultural heritage as well as fortifications at Mosman Headlands that were originally built to guard the harbour against attack.

A gentle bush track weaves around the harbour headlands from Taronga Zoo Wharf to Bradleys Head and Chowder Bay. Come face-to-face with wildlife in the native bushland and stop for a break at heritage-listed Athol Hall or a Chowder Bay cafe. The track continues to Middle Head and Balmoral if you feel like a longer walk.

Other loop options include the walk from Sydney Harbour Bridge to Taronga Zoo and Lane Cove to Hunters Hill. At the Spit Bridge, you can even join the Sydney Harbour to Hawkesbury (Manly to Cowan) Track which connects with the Great North Walk to Newcastle. The choice of walks is many and varied so take your time to meander along the walk, using public transport to get from A to B.
