Make the most of the Harbour City's great weather and explore the dedicated streets, roads and laneways which are home to chic, stylish boutiques brimming with personality.

Eastern Suburbs

Sydney's premier shopping strip is Oxford Street, which runs from Darlinghurst to Paddington. Fashionistas flock to Parlour X and Australian designers are clustered around The IntersectionC. Narrow William Street is home to high-end boutiques tucked inside terrace houses, like Just William Chocolates and G&L Handmade Shoes.

Woollahra is at the top of Oxford Street and its main strip is Queen Street, home to a chic assortment of fancy fashion, homewares and stores. The leafy streets of nearby Double Bay are equally populated with fashionable, high end boutiques. One of the stalwarts is jeweller Jan Logan, a favourite with celebrities like Naomi Watts and Jennifer Lopez.

Inner West

If vintage is more your thing, you'll be rewarded with fantastic finds along Crown Street in Surry Hills as you browse the racks at Vampt Vintageand Zoo Emporium. In the inner west, Newtown is equally known for its vintage finds, stroll along King Street to unearth a range of vintage stores as well as independent boutiques and book retailers.

While you’re in the area, don’t miss Darling Street, which runs from Balmain to Rozelle, with its many delightful boutiques, bookstores, cafes and pubs. Speaking of books, nearby Glebe is home to some of the city’s best bookshops, including the much-loved Gleebooks.

Across the bridge

On the other side of the harbour you've got the stylish home, art and design stores that line Military Road in Mosman. Continue further north to the laid-back suburb of Avalon on the far Northern Beaches for coastal-inspired homewares and cool Australian labels like One Teaspoon and Bassike.

Eat & drink

The food in these shopping meccas reflect the areas’ overall vibe. Paddington's backstreets are home to cosy pubs in colonial buildings, such as The Village Innand The London. In Double Bay, you've got the sprawling Golden Sheaf, which is all about being seen. The café scene in Surry Hills reigns supreme, order a flat white at Artificer Coffee to see why. Newtown is the unofficial capital of craft breweries and it's hard to go past Young Henry's.
