For three weeks each January, Sydney Festival offers a rich program of around 80 events involving upwards of 500 artists from Australia and abroad covering dance, theatre, music, visual arts, cross media and forums. In any given year, the Festival makes use of most of the main theatres across the city including Sydney Theatre, Carriage Works, City Recital Hall and venues at Sydney Opera House.
Sydney Festival kicks off with Festival First Night, a large-scale free event in the city's parks, streets and lanelays. This is just the opener for three thrilling weeks of music, dance, family entertainment, theatre and visual arts. Throw in the Festival's three free massive outdoor concerts at The Domain and you have a summer of spectacular entertainment.
