International Childrens Games
The International Children's Games (ICG) is a recognised member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and is the largest multi- sport youth games in the world, delivering a unique sport and cultural experience for young people.
Lake Macquarie will be the first City in the southern hemisphere to host the games, winning the bid to stage the 48th Summer International Children's Games in December 2014.
Approximately 2,000 athletes (between the ages of 12 and 15), coaches, heads of delegation and city representatives along with 3,000 supporters representing 70 to 90 cities and 40 countries participate in the ICG annually.
The Games brings together an alliance of cities and individuals from around the globe who have a common goal of forming friendships and peace through sport.
Lake Macquarie and New South Wales looks forward to welcoming the world.
