Beginning with observational drawings of a range of subjects students will learn about gesture, mark making, abstraction, composition, colour, form, line and texture and how to find their own expression in their mark. Practising artist Ochre Lawson will give demonstrations in how to use a range of drawing media such as charcoal, ink, watercolour and pastels and how to combine them effectively. For beginners to advanced.

Waverley Woollahra Arts School was established in 1968 to provide art and craft classes to the community and in doing so, provide employment to artists. All courses are conducted by practising artists with particular emphasis on providing high standards of tuition in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Courses are all based on a practical "hands-on" approach and class sizes are kept to a maximum of fifteen students.
