Dining in Coogee

Aerial of Coogee beach and eastern coastline, Sydney

From laid back beachside cafes and traditional bistros to rooftop eateries and fine dining spots, there are many ways to enjoy the flavoursome fare found in the comfort of Coogee’s scenic coastal location.

With a wide range of international cuisine along Coogee’s main streets and waterfront precinct, you can indulge your tastebuds at one Coogee’s many acclaimed restaurants. Enjoy authentic Indonesian at the established Java, Brazilian BBQ at Churrusco, Italian at La Spiaggia, Greek atmosphere at Nissaki Taverna or Japanese at Sushigoi.

Embrace Coogee’s waterside location and sample freshly-cooked seafood at one of the suburb’s many restaurants and cafes, including A Fish Called Coogee, Sea Salt Cafe, Tropicana Cafe and Clovelly’s Out of the Blue. Feast on a serving of fresh fish and chips in-store or take your meal down to the beach and savour the classic favourite with the sand between your toes.

If you’d rather do the cooking yourself, head down to Coogee Beach and make use of the free BBQ facilities or bring along a packed meal or takeaway and enjoy a picnic in one of the beachside parks.

You can also enjoy panoramic views during a visit to one of Coogee’s waterside or rooftop bars, including the Coogee Bay Hotel or the stylish Coogee Pavilion's indoor, outdoor and rooftop bars.

Head inland and discover the range of restaurants, cafes, eateries and bars positioned along Coogee Bay Road. Select from menus abundant with sweet treats, hearty mains and expertly-mixed cocktails. There’s also a great range of dining options nearby at The Spot in Randwick where a variety of modern Australian and international restaurants converge on the small, vibrant locale. Finish your evening with a visit to the historic Ritz Cinema, and enjoy a new release film.
