Theatre

The Sydney Theatre Company, Australia’s premier theatre group, leads this acclaimed performing arts scene. Its annual program attracts a worldwide audience thanks to the calibre of stars who perform, including Cate Blanchett, Toni Collette, Rebel Wilson and Hugo Weaving.

The Roslyn Packer Theatre and The Wharf Theatres are contemporary venues that host a range of Australian and international theatre and dance. The Australian Theatre for Young People, which trained Rose Byrne, puts on a stellar annual program. Explore the theatres and wharves on free self-guided tours and see outdoor sculptures, including Jimmie Durham's Still Life With Stone and Car and Brett Whiteley's Black Totem II.

Dance

The Sydney Dance Company and Bangarra Dance Theatre, an internationally renowned indigenous dance company that brings Dreamtime stories to life, both have headquarters at Walsh Bay and will return once the redevelopment of the wharves is complete. In the meantime, they still perform at the Roslyn Packer Theatre.
