Cafe Shenkin in Erskineville is fusing a love of Australian food and culture with Israeli heritage to create a menu with a difference. It's time to leave the bircher/granola muesli combo behind and get on board with the big Israeli breakfast. Homemade hummus, pita, falafel, tuna salad, labanne, shakshouka. They've hit the nail on the head because the crowds are flocking in by the dozens and you'll be hard-pressed to find a table on the weekend. The laid-back vibe and solid Mecca brew may also have something to do with it.
