Wendy Sharpe: House of Dreams and The Book of Constant Stars
House of Dreams and The Book of Constant Stars are unique installations filling all of Juniper Hall. It consists of hundreds of works on paper, with no precise narrative. It explores the themes of relationships, memory, restlessness and longing. Some are real and some imagined. Some are more poetic or more mysterious.
Wendy Sharpe was a finalist of the Doug Moran National Portrait Prize in 2015. Established by Doug and Greta Moran and Family in 1988 in celebration of Australia’s bicentennial, the Moran Arts Foundation fosters portraiture skills, excellence in photography and enhancing arts in education.
Juniper Hall, believed to be the oldest surviving mansion from Governor Macquarie’s time to be found in Sydney, is the home of the annual Moran Prizes exhibition incorporating the Doug Moran National Portrait Prize and Moran Contemporary Photographic Prizes including photographs by students participating in the free Moran School Photographic Workshops.
