Discover Kangaroo Valley

Lush green fields and rainforests surround the Kangaroo River which flows through to the secluded Kangaroo Valley. Here you will find the small inland community, located between the Southern HIghlands and the coastal towns of the Shoalhaven on the South Coast.

Dating back to the 1870, the main street retains a country charm that extends to its tea rooms and the old local pub, The Friendly Inn. This pub also has a great kid-friendly beer garden with fantastic views of the Valley. Be sure to stop in at the Kangaroo Valley Pie Shop at Barrengarry Old Store. They claim to have the world's best pies.

Kayaking down the Kangaroo River is a popular way to explore the surrounding natural beauty. There are also overnight kayaking tours, r you can take a leisurely paddle down the river in just a few hours, and you'll be picked up at the other end and returned to the historic Hampden Bridge.

The spectacular Fitzroy Falls, which also includes a visitor information centre and cafe, and the pretty Gerringong Falls, both less than 20 km drive from Kangaroo Valley, is a beautifully scenic pit stop. There are also some great bushwalks in and around the falls.

There are many great places to stay in Kangaroo Valley, with accommodation ranging from self-contained cottages and cabins, to bed and breakfasts, farm stays and two caravan parks.
