About Currarong

This small village is located at the northern edge of the dramatic Beecroft Peninsula that adjoins Jervis Bay Marine Park. Currarong is 33 km south-east of Nowra and is popular for swimming and surfing, fishing and prawning. The protected main beach, called Abrahams Bosom, has good picnic grounds with BBQ facilities.

There are a number of easy walks from Currarong such as Wreck Walk to see the ghostly remains of SS Merimbula or the three-hour Trig Station Walk. In spring, wildflowers are prolific on Beecroft Peninsula which is also known for its spectacular sandstone cliffs that rise straight from the ocean. Whales, dolphins and seals can often be spotted from the clifftops.
