Finding the right type of accommodation can be overwhelming, particularly if you're new in town and not sure of where to stay. But whether you're looking to park yourself by the beach, the suburbs or the centre of town in the CBD, you're sure to find hotels and motels to suit your taste and your budget.

Head north to world-famous Manly (or catch a ferry from Circular Quay) and you'll find a variety of accommodation to choose from, both on the beachfront and in the leafy residential streets backing onto the promenade.

In Bondi, the famous Swiss Grand offers million-dollar views, and it's not far to stroll to the Sunday markets or to enjoy a coffee and bacon and eggs at a café by the sea. There are also numerous boutique hotels, motels and backpacker accommodation around Bondi and neighbouring Coogee.

If the bright lights of the big smoke beckon, Sydney's CBD has it all: from the newest rooms right in the city, to accommodation in Potts Point, Darling Harbour, Circular Quay and central Sydney.

Don't forget to check out the hotel and motel options on the fringes of town, too; you'll find boutique offerings in Darlinghurst, Ashfield, Ultimo and Annandale, plus further afield in Penrith at the base of the Blue Mountains, and in Homebush, the home of the Sydney Olympic Stadium.
