Why go there

Tobwabba Art Gallery and Studio features work mainly produced by members of the Wallamba people, who lived around Wallis Lake area.

Twenty-two professional Aboriginal artists have their work displayed at Tobwabba. Their style is described as contemporary coastal art. They often use vibrant, non-traditional colours to represent the world around them, and combine modern and traditional approaches to create a fresh and colourful perspective.

The gallery highlights some of their best works, and there is plenty of merchandise for sale ranging from jewellery, t-shirts and sarongs to boomerangs, didgeridoos and music sticks.

The name Tobwabba means "a place of clay" and refers to a hill on which the descendants of the Wallamba now have their homes.
