Circular Quay
Must do
The Rocks and Circular Quay
Circular Quay has always been a busy transport hub since the early days of the colony. Today, Circular Quay and The Rocks are great to explore if you're looking for good quality souvenirs, art galleries, designer fashion as well as historic pubs, outdoor cafes and waterfront restaurants.
About Circular Quay
As well as being one of the best neighbourhoods for arranging travel around Sydney city, Circular Quay has many of Sydney's best attractions and things to do. Head off on an easy harbour foreshore walk from the Quay to Sydney Opera House and the Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney. Along the way, you’ll find some great spots for the perfect photograph of Sydney’s favourite icons, Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House.
Cafes, bars and restaurants are dotted along the eastern and western sides of Circular Quay offering sublime harbour views with great food and drinks. Some of Sydney’s best restaurants are here – Aria, Guillaume at Bennelong, Rockpool, Quay, Cafe Sydney and The Dining Room in the Park Hyatt Sydney hotel.
From Circular Quay you can catch a ferry to Manly, travel along the Parramatta River to Sydney Olympic Park, or head to Watsons Bay by ferry for lunch and a walk along the harbour foreshore. You can also get water taxis, jet boats, harbour cruises, buses, trains and taxis from this waterfront transport hub.
